Pattern: Tunisian Square in Square Dishcloth






General information

Skill level

Special Stitches

Basic foundation row
Forward pass: Insert hook into back bump of first stitch, yo, pull up loop, leave loop on hook. Repeat for all chain stitches
Return pass: Ch1, * yo, pull through 2 loops*, repeat between ** until you have one loop left on hook

Tunisian Knit Stitch (TKS)
Forward pass: * Insert hook in between front vertical and back vertical bar from front right to back left, yo, pull up loop*, repeat between ** until the last stitch. For the last stitch, insert hook between left loop plus back bump and most right loop, yo, pull up loop.
Return pass: Ch1, *yo, pull through 2 loops*, repeat between ** until you have one loop left on hook.

Tunisian Purl Stitch (TPS)
Forward pass: * Yarn in front of work, insert hook from right to left under front vertical bar, yo, pull up loop, leave loop on hook*  Repeat between ** until last stitch. Work your last TPS into the very left loop of the last stitch.
Return pass: Ch1, *yo, pull through 2 loops*, repeat between ** until you have one loop left on hook.

Abbreviations
Ch: Chain
Sl st: slip stitch
Sc: single crochet
Yo: yarn over

Notes
You can make 2 dishcloths out of one ball of Lily Sugar ‘n Cream

Finished measurement
20 x 20 cm or 8”x8” approximately

Materials
1 ball Lily Sugar ’n Cream “Painted desert, 86 mtr/95 yards per ball, 1 ball yields 2 dishcloths
Tunisian long crochet needle, 6.0 mm

Pattern

Chain 20. Follow diagram for the pattern. After finishing the last row, do not fasten off, but ch 1 and start border. Sc in each stitch and sc 3 times in each corner. Fasten off.
